How to Restore iPhone 5/4S/4/3GS from iTunes and iCloud Backup

It is a good habit to back up iPhone devices with Apple's iTunes and iCloud service before you lost data. Apple offers two ways for users to back up iPhone data: iTunes backup and iCloud backup.

Apple makes iTunes backup a kind of SQLITEDB file to better protect iPhone data. This means you can't directly access and preview any backup files, which would make you into a world of pain if you want to restore some specific and important files.   • Enter your iCloud account and password.
  • Choose the recent backup you wish to restore to your iPhone.
  • Enter any passwords required when prompted.
Note: Restoring from an earlier backup will revert all data and settings on your iPhone to those contained in the backup. If you have more recent data on iPhone, you need to back them up first to avoid data loss.
